The Big Issue Statement of Intent

My version of “The Big Issue” front cover focuses on the new addition to the royal family – Meghan and Harrys baby boy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

When designing my front cover I intend to create a light and fun atmosphere and in order to portray this I plan to photoshop in elements such as; party hats, balloons and possible a banner to give the cover that humorous feel.

In regards to the information on the front cover I plan to include one main strap line as the focal point of the issue and minimise the amount of cover lines/tag lines as I feel that fits better into the stereotypical front cover of “The Big Issue” magazine. Another element which is in keeping with a regular cover of “The Big Issue” is the addition of the masthead and the information underneath this mast head, by adding “EVERY MONDAY TWO POUND FIFTY” and their slogan of “A HAND UP NOT A HAND OUT” furthers the authenticity of my adapted version of the front cover.

I hope to stick to a fairly simple colour scheme, and mostly include: white, blue and some other background colour from the photo I intend to include on the issue. I think that they sticking to a simple colour scheme highlights the story on the cover as it does not distract from the strap line and image on the cover.

Thriller sequence planning and filming

  • In the planning stages of our sequence we conducted a recce, created. Storyboard and we also created mood boards/ idea boards on Pinterest that contained general ideas for shots and scenes to include whilst filming
  • I was a character in the film so another team member did most of the filming; however, I did film all of the scenes or shots that I was not in. Next time I think we should film multiple different locations in our recce (as we only focused on one scene during the recce) so we could have found the best possible locations for our sequence
